module 8 video review

1. Explain why you selected the video you choose from the selection listed above. I selected the video The Greek Awakening: Art from the 5th Century BC because the title was interesting and I was curious to know what specific details the video entailed about art in that specific time period. 2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned. I learned a few things from watching both videos. From the first video How Art Made The World 1- More Human Than Human, I learned that about sculptures, specifically the sculpture of Venus. The sculpture of Venus is worth $60 million. Another thing I learned from this video is that overtime, the styles of Egyptians never changed. The video I chose The Greek Awakening: Art from the 5th Century BC, I learned about the history of Greek and how the art from that era is important because many people learned a lot from it because it added to their creativity. I also learned that that people of that time period valued themselves so much

module 7 video response

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned. I learned a few things from watching the two videos. In the video Architecture: The Science of Design I learned that a skyscraper is made up of two distinct parts. One part is the superstructure, which is the art that stands above ground that we recognize as the building. Another part is the underground substructure.Taking the power that wind has into consideration is also important. It is significant that when designing buildings, that the structure is strong and secured enough to handle wind. The higher a building is, the more violent the wind gets, so it is important that the structure of buildings are properly built to ensure safety. I also learned that to make concrete, there are a lot of components that go into the development. The video Frank Gehry: Architecture as Art talks about the first step in Architecture, which is sketching. I learned that buildings can create an emotional response to people. Frank Gehry exp

When looking at Project #1: (Elements and Principles), did you agree with the element or principle the artist listed with the images? Did you see other elements and principles in the images? It was interesting to look at the images that my peers used for this particular project and also the principles and elements that each pictured was categorized under. I did agree with the elements and principles that each peer listed with the images. Both peers had

module 6 video response

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned. There were a few things that I learned in each of the videos. In the sculptor video, I learned that there is a team in the sculpting process and that each person on that team is assigned a particular job based on what they specialize in. I also learned that the material plays a major role in the outcome of the work. Basically, the artist depends on the feeling they get from the material, which usually determines what they should make. They get an emotional attachment from the material. From the Glass and Ceramic video, I learned that they both are very similar. They are made up of similar substances and the process of making them are alike. I learned about the important role that fire plays in class making and the hardening process. After the mixture with the chemicals are made turning it into a solid and using fire to hold it was another thing that I learned. 2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text? Th

sketches final logo 1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo . I actually had more fun that I thought I would creating my logo. I wanted to incorporate my name without actually spelling it out. I decided to use my initial and some of my favorite colors to make it stand out. From the start, I had the image in my head on how I wanted the letters to overlap to create a united image. I thought the process was a little difficult at first because the image I had in my head was not what was being reflected on the paper. However after a few attempts, I was able to satisfy myself with the final product that I created.   2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation. The resources that were given definitely helped me with the process. I was able to understand what it takes to create a logo and the process that goes along with it. Since the logo is to represent me, I wanted to use the letters in my name. Not only are the

A.) Which artworks make an impact or impression on me? Why? 1.Yves Tanguy. Divisibilite indefinie (Indefinite Divisibility), 1942. Oil on canvas. Out of all the paintings that I looked at, this image stood out to me the most. The colors are very vibrant and all the colors go very well together. The items are uniquely placed together. The items seem realistic and seem as if they are jumping out of the painting. The shadow of the items and the light reflecting made the image stand out more to me. For these reasons, this image made the biggest impact on me.  2 . Piero Dorazio. A Peaceful Solution, 1976-77. Oil on canvas This painting is very simple yet detailed at the same time. This image made a big impression on me because of how vibrant the colors are. The fact that the artist chose to paint in straight lines fascinated me. The work was very neat and came together very well. I can clearly see that the author put a lot of work into creating the painting. The yellow that the a
